The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Spavinaw man involved a pursuit in Delaware County Friday afternoon is recovering a Missouri hospital.

Troopers said a crash happened at the end of the chase west of Jay on Highway 20 when the driver, 27-year-old Lloyd Quick lost control of his 1997 Toyota Camry at 2:40 p.m.

The OHP says the chase started after Quick who was headed south sped by a northbound trooper on a county road.  The trooper turned around and began the pursuit.

After getting on Highway 20, troopers said Quick lost control on some "S" curves and crashed.   The OHP says Lloyd Quick was thrown from the car.  He was arrested after being taken to a Grove hospital.

They said Quick was flown by medical helicopter to a Joplin hospital where he was admitted in fair condition.

The OHP report states Lloyd Quick was not wearing a seat belt and was driving at an unsafe speed.
