Deputies believe two Cookston brothers are connected to at least eight business burglaries across Sequoyah County over the past three months.

Colton Sparks, 20, and Cody Sparks, 18, were arrested and booked into jail Monday.  Colton is being held on three burglary complaints and Cody on eight burglary complaints.

Sheriff Ron Lockhart told KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, the arrests came after deputies responded to a burglary Monday at Gene's Dive Shop in Gore.

He says his office, Gore Police and Sallisaw Police have all been involved in this investigation.

“I appreciate the hard work of all agencies involved. Over the past three months, we saw an increase in business burglaries throughout the county. We are glad these suspects are off the streets,” said Ron Lockhart.
