Police say a teenager is in custody after he assaulted two elderly people early Saturday in midtown Tulsa.

Officers were called to a disturbance in the 5500 block of East Toledo just before 6:45 a.m.  They said a caller told police the teen who appeared to be on drugs had tried to kick in his home's front door, then ran off.

Officers began a search and located the 16-year-old two blocks away after he had hit a 79-year-old man in the face and jump on the man's car hood.  Police tried to take the teen into custody but he fought with officers and ran off.

Next door, police said the teen attacked a 75-year-old woman kicking her in the head.  It was at that location, that police were able to take the teen into custody.

EMSA paramedics treated the two elderly residents at the scene, but did not take them to the hospital, police said.

Police said the unidentified teen, who appeared to be under the influence of some type of drug was taken to a Tulsa hospital. They said when he is released from the hospital, he will be booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
