Jenks head football coach Allan Trimble has decided not to retire after all.
Oklahoma’s most successful high school football coach had a change of heart, saying, “Jenks is home, and it's more than a job.”
The hall of fame coach has served 20 years as Jenks’ head man in charge and holds a state record 13 championships while racking up over 230 wins.
"For long-term standards, it's best that I'm here,” Trimble added. "My family is tired, but they just want me to be happy. My wife is ready for me to get back to work."
He joked that his reason for staying wasn’t based on “a giant bag of money anywhere or 20 vacation days somewhere."

And as for how long he’ll work before he plans to really retire, Trimble says there’s no timeline.
“As long as I stay focused on why I came here, I can coach for some time,” he said.
