An elderly driver walked away from a collision with a train in downtown Tulsa Tuesday morning. The incident closed down several crossings near Archer at Greenwood and Elgin in the Brady District for a little over two hours.

Police say the man was driving westbound on the tracks - not crossing them - when he was hit head-on around 3:45 a.m. at Greenwood Avenue. He was apparently confused and told police he was driving to the hospital to get medication.

The train was going about 15 m.p.h., and the man was able to walk to the ambulance.

The crossings were reopened shortly around 6 a.m. Inspectors told News On 6 the damage to the train was not going to cause enough problems to delay it further.
