The Army Corps of Engineers is teaming up with the Oklahoma State University 4H for an ATV Safety Day this weekend.
The free safety course is Saturday at Appalachia Bay at Keystone Lake.
The goal of the program is safety - teaching riders the best techniques for starting and stopping, riding hills, swerving, and riding over obstacles.
There's also information about wearing the right gear and getting the right sized ATV.
“Ninety percent of our youth accidents happen with young people - they're riding adult-size ATVs. They should not be on those ATVs, they don't fit those ATVs,” said Mike Klumpp with ATV Ride Safe Oklahoma.
Multiple classes will be held throughout the day beginning at 9:30 a.m.
