OHP: Pickup Crashes Into Caney River South Of Bartlesville

A body has been found inside a truck that crashed at the Caney River bridge just south of Bartlesville.

News on 6 was the first on scene today as responders tried to get the truck out of the river.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the crash happened 2 miles south of County Road 2400 between Bartlesville and Ochelata where the highway crosses over the Caney River.

Responders on the scene believe the person may have been driving north on U.S. Highway 75 toward Bartlesville, when they went off the road and into the water below.

For hours, the Ochelata Fire Department, Washington County Emergency Management and three tow trucks worked to get the truck onto dry land.

The recovery work shut down one lane on each side of the highway causing some slow downs for drivers.

OHP still is investigating the cause of the crash.
