Wagoner Man Jailed For Alleged Sexual Assault Of 12-Year-Old Girl

Broken Arrow Police arrested a Wagoner County man on complaints of first-degree rape and two counts the lewd molestation of a child under 16. James Dow Ferguson is being held on a $150,000 bond.

Officers were called to a Tulsa hospital during a sexual assault exam, and a 12-year-old girl told them she met Ferguson on a 1-800 singles line. An arrest report states Ferguson picked her up at a drug store and had sex with her. 

Police say they set up a sting where an officer texted the 40-year-old Ferguson, pretending to be the girl. Among other things, the officer texted him saying, "I'm 15 but that doesn't matter. I don't care," the arrest report states. Ferguson allegedly responded, "OK, that's fine with me baby."

He also arranged to meet the girl at a hotel, according to the arrest record.  Ferguson was taken into custody Friday night in Broken Arrow and is now in the Tulsa County Jail.
