A man was arrested overnight after firing shots into the air inside the convenience store where he works. Police say Deandre Carson had only worked at the store near Mohawk and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for a few days before Thursday morning's arrest.
Carson went outside for a break, came back in a few minutes later and became agitated, according to police.
The manager told police he ran out of the store after Carson threatened to harm him and pulled out the gun. As he ran, he heard a gunshot.
Carson was arrested on complaints of threatening a violent act and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He has former felony convictions for burglary, car theft, assault and drugs, records show.
