Stillwater Police have arrested a man who Joplin Police say murdered a Joplin woman last month.
KOAM, the CBS affiliate in Joplin reports the arrest came after police got a lead about the whereabouts of 36-year-old James Henneha and asked for help from Stillwater authorities.
Police say 38-year-old Tonya Crawford was reported missing on January 22. The next day, the landlord and family found her dead in her Joplin apartment.
Investigators believe she had been dead for quite some time, since her body was badly decomposed.
"With a new lead, they sent investigators down to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Then, over the weekend, with that new information they obtained on Friday, they obtained an arrest warrant for Henneha's arrest for first degree murder," says Sergeant Chad Dininger, Joplin Police.
Henneha remains in the Payne County jail awaiting extradition back to Missouri.
