A homeowner near 41st and Lewis has a warning for others about what you could be doing that puts you at risk of thieves.
The house is just one in this area being renovated now, and the homeowner told us he's already lost thousands of dollars worth of lawn equipment to a thief a few months back.
He didn't want to go on camera, but he also told News On 6 a few weeks ago another house nearby had appliances and actual granite counter tops stolen during construction.
Sunday night, police got a call of possible burglary - and cited a woman because she was coming from the house with a dolly cart. She also had some washers and dryers on her trailer - but since police can't prove if she stole them or not - they couldn't arrest her for that.
On their website, security company Vector Security says during renovations, lock up everything, tell your neighbors who's working on the house, and consider using home surveillance video.
