Several law enforcement agencies joined to track down a man who failed to stop after Coweta Police tried to pull him over. Police say the chase ended in a field after driver Arron Starks bailed out of his stolen car.

A patrol officer clocked Starks speeding as he drove into town near 257th East Avenue and Highway 51, according to Coweta Chief of Police Michael Bell.

Instead of stopping, police say the 31-year-old man took off - going through downtown Coweta before getting back onto Highway 51 heading west.

Bell said his officer backed off on the search twice but was able to keep the vehicle in sight.

Broken Arrow Police Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol joined the pursuit as Starks continued west. Starks finally pulled into a restaurant parking lot at 90th Street and jumped out of the car.

He was tracked to a nearby field and taken into custody.

Police learned the car had been stolen out of Oklahoma City. Starks has been convicted of burglary and car theft in the past, serving time in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, records show.
