The Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested a Sand Springs man on suspicion of driving under the influence after a rollover crash late Monday in west Tulsa.
Just before 11 p.m., troopers said Michael Hammond was found stumbling around his overturned car in the 7100 block of West 51 Street. When they attempted to talk with Hammond, troopers noticed a strong odor of alcohol.
The OHP report said the 42-year-old man denied he had been drinking prior to the crash. He refused to take a sobriety test, but the arrest report states he had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.
Troopers arrested Hammond on complaints of speeding and DUI, first offense. He was first taken to a Tulsa hospital to be checked out for injuries and then booked into the Tulsa County jail.
Jail records show Hammond has a court appearance set for February 2.
