Former Owasso pitcher and first-round draft pick Dylan Bundy is back in action after suffering shoulder injuries.
“Turn him loose,” Showalter said, according to The Baltimore Sun. “Governors are off, binders are off, however you want to put it. You guys walk up to him after he throws and you ask him how his arm feels, he's going to go, 'Why are you asking me that? Go ask one of these broke-down [pitchers].'”
Bundy has been participating in this week’s minicamp and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
The past couple years, I haven't thrown many innings, so I can't really be a 200 innings starter," he stated in a presser." Being in the bullpen anywhere in the big leagues, I'll take any position and I'll be fine."
In 2011, the Owasso alumni was the fourth overall draft pick. He later reached the majors in 2012 but had Tommy John Surgery in 2013.
Bundy made his return in mid-2014 but must stay on the 25-man roster this season or risk being exposed to waivers. In his return, he threw 41 1/3 innings and 22 last year.
