Tulsa Police Investigate Death Of 6-Week-Old Girl

Tulsa police are investigating the death of a 6-week-old girl Sunday. The child's mother and babysitter say they discovered the infant was not breathing and rushed her to a fire station at 3005 East 15th Street.

Firefighters, who are first responders, tried to revive the baby but were unsuccessful, records show.

EMSA medics pronounced the baby dead at 8:38 a.m. Tulsa police, the Department of Human Services, the medical examiner and a police chaplain all responded to the death.

Police say there are no obvious signs of trauma to the baby. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
