A police chase from Bixby to Broken Arrow ended with one man in custody.

Officers said, around 4:00 Friday afternoon, Bixby police tried to stop a man driving a dark green pickup; police wanted to talk to him about a fraudulent check.

He instead took off.

During the chase he hit a car at 91st and 129th in Broken Arrow. Then, eventually, hit another car farther down the road when Broken Arrow police put out stop strips.

Sergeant Thomas Cooper with BAPD said, "There's always an element of risk involved, and when you have this much traffic, and Christmas shopping, and just 71st Street in itself is always busy. So it is a risk. Luckily we were able to take the suspect into custody."

The man jumped out of the car and tried to hide, but a Broken Arrow K9 officer found him.

He could face charges for check fraud and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

No one was hurt.

The name of the man has not been released.
