OHP Name Man In Critical Condition Following Tulsa Crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol named the man in critical condition after his truck went off the road late Friday night.

Troopers said 47-year-old Virgil Wallace is in the hospital in critical condition after they found him in a wrecked pickup truck.

They said Wallace was driving his 2011 Chevy pickup westbound on I-244 when, for an unknown reason, it left the road and hit a highway sign.

OHP said they found the truck in the median on I-244 near the Memorial exit.

He was taken to the hospital with a head injury. A friend of the family tells News On 6 Wallace suffered a heart attack while driving.

Wallace ran for Tulsa City Council District 3 last year as an independent. He lost to incumbent David Patrick.

Wallace also owns a bail bonds company in Tulsa.
