TU Football: Philip Montgomery On Sterlin Gilbert Interviewing With Texas

Tulsa's Co-Offensive Coordinator Sterlin Gilbert interviewed with Texas Head Coach Charlie Strong, Philip Montgomery confirmed on Wednesday.

“We got a good staff here and we’ve got a good working relationship, and our administration has done a good job of supporting us and being there with us. And so, as guys come in, guys are going to get talked to. I understand that part of it,” said Montgomery. “We’ve got to focus in on what we’ve got. We’ve got a bowl game in front of us, and that’s been or primary focus.”

It was reported that Texas offered the job to Sonny Cumbie on Sunday after a meeting in Fort Worth, but he still hasn't announced whether he's staying at TCU or joining the Texas program.

On Tuesday evening, The Dallas Morning News reported that there hadn’t been an official decision submitted by Cumbie. So, it seems as if Strong has shifted his attention to Gilbert for the meanwhile.
