Former Treasurer Who Embezzled From Tulsa FOP Pays Restitution

<p>The U.S. Attorney's Office in Tulsa says the former treasurer of the Fraternal Order of Police Oklahoma State Lodge and the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police has paid her restitution.</p>

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Tulsa says the former treasurer of the Fraternal Order of Police Oklahoma State Lodge and the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police has paid her restitution.

A federal judge sentenced Lorna Jean Vanlandingham to 33 months in prison on June 22, 2015, for embezzling from Lodge bank accounts. Judge Gregory K. Frizzell ordered Vanlandingham to pay restitution in the amount of $291,127.59, plus interest, a $15,000 fine and a $200 special assessment fee.

According to a new release from the U.S. Attorney's office, the money was collected thanks to the aggressive efforts of the Northern District’s Financial Litigation Unit.

Vanlandingham was a police officer for 25 years who admitting to embezzling the money. She told the judge she did it to feed her gambling addiction.
