Some lucky kids from Bixby got the chance to Shop with a Cop today.
The annual event is put on by the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, Bixby Police, Bixby Rotary Club and Bixby Community Outreach.
Around 50 children are chosen from the community to do some Christmas shopping with an officer or deputy.
They are given a budget and get to shop for gifts for their families.
Deputies say it is a great time to let kids see law enforcement officers in a positive light.
"It's not all about driving fast and shooting guns,” Justin Green of the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office said. “It's about the people, and that's why we are here today. Because we care about the people of our community."
"I was actually pretty happy that I would actually come down here and meet a cop,” Zachary McCarthy said.
Fundraising to pay for the program is done throughout the year by the Rotary Club.
