Presidential candidates running in 2016 are expected to begin submitting paperwork on Monday to appear on Oklahoma's Presidential Preferential Primary ballot on March 1.
The three-day filing will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the State Election Board office at the state Capitol in Oklahoma City. Presidential candidates typically don't file in person.
All candidates are required to submit a $2,500 filing fee with their statements of candidacy.
Candidates can avoid paying the $2,500 filing fee if they have a petition signed by a certain number of eligible voters in each congressional district.
This year's March 1 primary Oklahoma will be the first statewide election in which registered independents can vote in the Democratic primary.
