Thanksgiving weekend in Green Country is expected to be a wet one, the News On 6 WARN Team says.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for most of Eastern Oklahoma through Saturday.

Meteorologist Mike Grogan says Thursday should be pleasant temps in the 60s with spotty drizzle during the day.

By midday, it should shift to rain and intermittent showers and some temps could reach 70 degrees, Grogan said. By late day Thursday, widespread rain will be falling, some heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms, Grogan said.

Grogan says to expect temps to drop about 30 degrees by nightfall and make for a chilly Black Friday. Friday’s forecast is wet and cold, but temps should stay in the mid- to high 30s, staving off any freezing rain.

On Saturday, a freeze could be a reality out west in Pawnee and Osage counties, Grogan said.

In all, the holiday weekend is expected to net 4-5 inches of rain for northeastern Oklahoma and 7 inches or more and some flooding chances in the southeastern part of the state.
