Jenks police are asking for more victims to come forward after police arrested a man for using a smart phone app to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex.

Police arrested 40-year-old Johnathan Solomon in his car outside the boy’s home in Jenks. He’s now being held on a $65,000 bond.

They said this likely isn't the first time Solomon has contacted a minor for sex, but this time he got caught.

Jenks Police said the communication between Solomon and a 14-year-old boy started on a smart phone app. Detectives said the boy's stepfather found inappropriate messages on the teen’s iPod and called police.

Chief Cameron Arthur said officers arrested Solomon across the street from the boy’s home, in his car.

"We believe he had met up with him at least one time prior," Arthur said.

Police said Solomon failed to tell the boy he had an STD the first time they met.

Arthur said this situation is a reminder for parents to check their kids’ electronics.

“Don't always assume they are utilizing the best apps,” he said, “and maybe they don't even know. But these guys are very good at what they do to lure them away."

Detectives said the app Kik is one of predators’ favorites because, as Lori Fullbright reported in July, people can send messages anonymously, so you never really know who they are talking to.

Arthur said, "These really are great devices for the pedophiles to lure their victims without doing it on a street corner some place or somewhere else. So, we have to put officers on every street corner, literally, and we can do that by putting officers on social media."

Jenks detectives recently took over a girl's Facebook account to catch a predator as part of a new initiative to dedicate more resources to stopping online sex crimes.

If you believe your child has had any contact with Solomon, you are asked to call Jenks Police at 918-299-6311.
