Friday, a national customer service company announced a major expansion saying it has chosen its Tulsa branch as the company's next big hub.
Alorica said it hopes to hire 700 people in the Tulsa area over the next 60 days, and the jobs are available to anyone with a high school diploma or GED, with shifts available any time or day of the week.
It's an opportunity for at least 700 Tulsans to get a job, fast.
It started out as a part-time job for Allen Thao, something to help pay the bills while taking college classes.
"I was going to school at the time and I was like, ‘I need a part time job,’" he said.
Thao said Alorica was the perfect fit - flexible enough to work around his school schedule – and he’s been working with Alorica's insurance clients ever since.
The company is looking for 700 more workers by January, saying business is just that good.
“We've been fortunate enough to win a number of new business lines," Alorica Site Director Joe Dickerson said
Alorica's Tulsa branch contracts with ten different companies; serving as their customer support and sales teams.
Construction on the company's 30,000 square foot expansion inside the East Gate MetroPlex should be finished in the next several weeks - plenty of room for its new employees.
“We're in a rapid-growth mode, and Alorica's decided to make Tulsa an anchor of that growth," Dickerson said.
The jobs start at $9.50 per hour and come with a paid training program.
