Coffeyville Police wounded a man they say shot at two officers early Thursday.

In a new release, police said the shooting happened after the officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 300 block of West 11th Street at 1:30 a.m.

When officers arrived at a parking lot in the 100 block of West 9th Street, they said 24-year-old Kenneth Jones ran away. Police said they tried to use a Taser, but Jones shot at the officers. Police fired back and hit him.
