With Joseph Randle ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. Seattle because of an oblique strain and personal matters, it’s good news for the Cowboys that Dez is inching closer to his return.

After sitting out for weeks due to the broken foot he sustained in Week 1, the Pro-Bowler seems eager to return to game action. According to the Dallas Cowboys Twitter account, Dez didn’t have any setbacks in Thursday’s practice and Cowboys Vice President Stephen Jones believes Dez is on track to play this week.
Although Dez’s return for the Seahawks is optimistic, Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan says they’ll have to see how Friday goes.
“He got some work done today and making progress, but it’s just great to have him out there. You know, it just brings a lot of energy and juice to the practice for sure,” Linehan stated in a Dallas presser. “Feels like he did a little bit more [than yesterday], to me… He did some 11-on-11 work, so, you know, we’ll see. [He's] still gotta get through tomorrow; Today’s today, tomorrow’s a whole completely different day, gotta see how he responds to it. But, you know, we’re just kind of taking it day by day with him.”
If Dez does return Sunday afternoon, surely a lot of Dez fans will be throwing up the "X" for #88. Besides that, it'll give Dallas the spark it needs. Who better to go up against Seattle corner Richard Sherman?
Linehan went on to say that despite Randle’s absence, he feels good about the team’s depth at running back and that Michael and Smith have shown positive things that fit into what he wants to do.
He also stated that Romo can begin practice next week, with the first step being conditioning and then reps.
“We gotta kind of see, you know, where it is, how he feels the first week, kind of get the conditioning part of it. Formality is going be fine, [then look at the] conditioning part, see where he is, and then kind of integrate him into practice in some way, shape, or form.”
