A judge sentenced a man to prison for 65 years for sexually assaulting his estranged wife and kidnapping her and her child from their Broken Arrow home last year.

The judge sentenced Brian Korona, 41, to 35 years for spousal rape and 30 years for kidnapping which will run consecutively. Korona also received shorter sentences for lesser crimes, including larceny of a vehicle, burglary and violating a protective order. Those sentences will run concurrently with the rape sentence.

A jury convicted Korona of kidnapping his wife and her child back on February 7, 2014. The victim told officers Korona broke into her house and hid, kidnapping her and her child when they returned home that evening.

He eventually stopped at the Bass Pro Shop in Broken Arrow and the woman took her child, ran into the store and she screamed for help. Korona drove away but was arrested by Cherokee Nation Marshals in West Siloam Springs.
