Police arrested a 30-year-old Sapulpa man who led officers on a car chase across north Tulsa early Wednesday.
Officers said the chase began when police stopped to check on a car stopped in the middle of North Lewis just north of 36th Street North just after 3 a.m.
Police said the 2014 Ford Focus was reported stolen and when they asked the driver, Ryan Kelley to step out of the vehicle, he sped off. During the chase, police said the car collided with a patrol car, then drove through a fence and into a field.
The officer in the patrol car was not injured.
The chase eventually ended on East 56th Street North next to Highway 75 when the Kelley got out of the car and ran. Officers caught up with Kelley who had run through a briar patch and took him into custody.
Ryan Kelley was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
Jail records show Kelley has a bond of $37,000 with a court appearance set for September 30.
