The second annual Oysterfest at Guthrie Green had beautiful weather and a great turnout. The event - which raised money for the Community Food Bank of Oklahoma - was held Saturday afternoon.
Folks came out for a chance to purchase the seafood treat and other items from 14 different food trucks that lined the Brady Arts District park and listen to live music.
But the main event - oysters.
"I've seen oyster sliders; there's people that are grilling them, people that are frying them. They're kind of served every which way today," said Meg Webb of Guthrie Green.
Josh Kampf was defending his title at the oyster eating contest. He said he'd always loved seafood and wanted to try eating contest. Last year he ate 193 oysters in 10 minutes.
"Today I'm going to attempt to cross 200 - you never know til you start going," he said.
Webb said they went through 7 or 8 thousand oysters last year and sold out, so they ordered more for the second go around.
