The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says alcohol played a factor in a crash on Fort Gibson Lake early Sunday morning.
Just after midnight, a jet boat operated by Jimmy Jerrell, 51, of Wagoner, struck a stationary pontoon boat at Snug Harbor, an investigating trooper wrote in a report.
A woman in the other boat -– Melissa Hoss, 30, of Broken Arrow -- was transported by ambulance to a hospital, treated for head injuries and released, according to OHP.
Jerrell had two passengers in his boat, a 10-year-old boy and Jason Knowles, 40, of Wagoner. Neither were injured.
The driver of the pontoon boat was David Olsen, of Broken Arrow. He had six passengers, and only Hoss was injured, the report says.
The trooper said in his report that the weather was clear and no one was ejected when the jet boat his the starboard of the pontoon. The report says Jerrell had been drinking and smelled of alcohol.
