OHP: Four-Year-Old Checotah Boy Run Over

A four-year-old Checotah boy is in a Tulsa hospital after a car ran him over on a McIntosh County road Thursday evening, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said a helicopter flew the boy, whose name is being withheld, to a Tulsa hospital with head and possible internal injuries after the 5:25 p.m. accident.

The OHP says a 2006 Pontiac G6 driven by Rebecca Dawkins, 34, of Porum was headed  north when the boy ran into the road and Dawkins was unable to stop in time.

Troopers said Dawkins was not at fault.
