A short pursuit ended with a crash in downtown Tulsa after a stolen car pulled in front of an off-duty officer.
Tulsa police said the off-duty officer was headed to work when a vehicle she knew to be stolen started driving in front of her.
They said the officer followed the vehicle and confirmed the tag number then radioed for help before starting the pursuit near 6 and Denver.
According to police, the black Dodge Charger took off and turned east on 6 Street before it crashed into a gelato truck going north on Detroit.
After a search of the stolen car, police said they found a gun and drug paraphernalia.
Both the male driver and female passenger in the stolen vehicle were transported to the hospital. Police said the driver, Michael Bledsoe, received a broken leg and other injuries. The female passenger, Elizabeth Campbell, was evaluated before being arrested on outstanding warrants.
The driver of the gelato truck, Ryan Fritz, was able to walk away from the accident. He said he was wearing his seat belt and only received a cut on his arm.
Police said about $1,500 worth of gelato was lost.
