Tulsa Police said a group of people "driving a little crazy" on the way back from the lake wrecked on the Sand Springs Expressway Monday morning. The 7 a.m. collision took place in the 1300 block of the highway just west of the IDL.

Two men were taken to jail after the crash.

"Apparently the occupants had been at Keystone Lake all night and were coming back, driving a little crazy and a little wild," said Tulsa Police Corporal J.D. Curran.

Witnesses told News On 6 a trio inside the car were making hand gestures at fellow motorists. The driver came up on rush hour traffic and had to brake suddenly, Curran said. He ended up hitting a cable barrier in the center median.

The driver, Michael Joseph Russell, was cited for current traffic violations and taken to jail on outstanding traffic warrants for driving with an expired tag, no insurance or driver's license.

Passenger Jesse Stout was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant. Court records show Stout, 28, was wanted for failure to appear on charges including driving under the influence of drugs and transporting an open container.

A female passenger was released.

An off-duty Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy was following the group and had them rounded up before TPD got on the scene, Curran said.
