A state lawmaker has filed a constitutional amendment he hopes will mean the 10 Commandments monument will be able to stay on the grounds of the state capitol.
Representative John Paul Jordan wants to get rid of the portion of the Oklahoma constitution the state supreme court cited in its vote to remove the monument.
He said article two, section five of the constitution "was written with discrimination in mind and like a malignant tumor, needs to be removed completely."
