Man Freed From SUV After Crash Into Tulsa Utility Pole

Tulsa police say a driver may have been under the influence of alcohol when he crashed into a pole and some street signs early Friday morning.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to free a driver from his vehicle after he ran into a pole overnight. The man was pinned in his SUV for more than 20 minutes after the crash near 32nd and Sheridan.

Police say the man was driving a Ford Explorer southbound on Sheridan around 2 a.m. when he crashed into the pole and some road signs. He was taken to the hospital with what was believed to be a broken leg, according to officers at the scene.

Tulsa Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the injury wreck.
