Owasso Officer Put On Administrative Leave After Allegations Of Using Excessive Force

An officer of the Owasso Police Department has been placed on administrative leave due to allegations that excessive force was used on a driver after a police chase concluded near Nowata, Oklahoma, this past Sunday.

The department is currently conducting an internal investigation into these allegations.

The department says it strives for the utmost in professionalism from its officers and will conduct a thorough review of this incident and that evidence will be reviewed. 

The department also says if it is determined that excessive force was used, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken and that any issues related to excessive force or other unlawful conduct will be immediately acted upon.
