The ninth annual Home Run for the Homeless game will be played Tuesday night at ONEOK Field at 7:00 p.m., shortly after the Drillers game vs. Springfield.
Home Run for the Homeless is a celebrity softball game between local TV personalities and local radio personalities/writers.
Last year, the radio and writers team won, and they look forward to continuing their winning streak this year.
The event is held to benefit the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.
Day Center for the Homeless is Tulsa's only daytime shelter for the homeless.
The Day Center serves an average of 400 people daily.
The mission of the center is to provide a safe and healthy environment for people who are homeless, and to also offer them opportunities and encouragement for achieving self-sufficiency.
For more information about Tulsa's Day Center visit their website.
FYI:
-Anyone who buys tickets to the event will be granted free admission to the Drillers game. Otherwise, adult tickets are $10.00, students 18 and under are $5.00 and kids five and under are free.
-If you have a little leaguer, cheerleader or any other little athlete, bring them in uniform to run bases during the Parade of Uniforms.
-News On 6 Sports Reporter/Anchor Charlie Hannema and Reporter Tess Maune will play for the TV team.
