Thieves broke into A New Leaf, a Broken Arrow garden center for that provides vocational training for adults with developmental disabilities. CEO Mary Ogle said the retail store at 2405 South Elm was burglarized sometime Friday night or Saturday morning.
Thieves took a computer monitor and tried to take money from the register.
“It saddened us to discover on Saturday morning that someone had broken into our Retail Garden Center. Our clients are individuals with developmental disabilities who are faced with many challenges, so it pains us to think that someone would steal from them.” Ogle said in a news release.
Ogle said she hopes the community will continue to support the organization by coming out to purchase their nursery plants and flowers. They have two retail locations: the one on Elm and another at 2306 South First Place in Broken Arrow.
Myers Nursery in Broken Arrow has been broken into at least five times since February. News On 6 spoke to the owner of that business earlier this week.
