Tulsa Public Schools is bidding a fond farewell to outgoing superintendent Dr. Keith Ballard.
The district hosted a reception for Ballard late Thursday afternoon to give teachers and other employees a chance to say thanks and wish him well.
It was also a chance for members of the community to say goodbye.
Ballard retires on June 30th after serving seven years at Tulsa Public Schools.
“He's really done a lot to bring the district forward. And I think it, I think we're really in a good position for Dr. Gist to come in and just continue to move the ball forward," said Chris Payne with TPS.
TPS finalized a three-year contract last month with Ballard's replacement, Dr. Deborah Gist.
The two will work together to make sure there's a smooth transition.
