Creek County Sheriff's Office hopes the public can provide information in the death of an Oakhurst man. Christopher Turner died following a fire that took place July 1, 2014, authorities say.

Detective Drew Mullenix said Turner, 40, lived in a trailer at 65th West Avenue and 63rd Street. He was mortally injured in a fire that destroyed the trailer early that morning.

"He got out of it and ran up the street before he collapsed," Mullenix said. "A neighbor who is now deceased picked him up and took him to the hospital."

Mullenix said neighbor did not call the fire into the fire department, and the trailer burned for two or three hours, destroying any evidence.

"I believe it to be arson," the detective said. "I have heard from multiple people who believe it to be arson."

Authorities recently got a tip about the death and hope others may have more information that can lead to an arrest.

Anyone who has information about the trailer fire and the death of Christopher Turner is asked to call Detective Drew Mullenix at 918-216-1725 or write dmullenix@creekcountysheriff.com.

Callers can remain anonymous.
