Students from the University of Tulsa delivered a mobile kitchen to the Little Light House in Tulsa, a developmental center for young children.
It's a fully functional mobile cooking center for children with special needs.
The kids at the school often have a variety of conditions that limit their hand-eye coordination.
With teacher input, TU students designed a kitchen that makes it easier for students to use -- like custom mixing devices and wireless remotes for slicing and dicing.
A lot of our children, they don't get an opportunity… to engage in these kinds of activities,” occupational therapist Anne McCoy said. “So they push a button and see a mixer go. That might be the first time it's ever happened for them.”
The mobile cooking center took over a year to design and build.
