News On 6 Storm Trackers Von Castor and Darren Stephens spotted a rain-wrapped tornado southwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex on Sunday night.
The Stephenville tornado was quite large, but masked by the rain, dropped fruit-sized hail.
Baseball-size hail was reported closer to Fort Worth, and drivers were reporting damage to vehicles.
There were no immediate reports of injuries in the aftermath of the tornado.
Stephenville police say shelters were opened at the city library and other locations.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch until 11 p.m. for 23 counties in north-central Texas.
