Tulsa Police arrested two who used a tire tool in connection with a robbery in a drug store parking lot early Monday.
Officers said the robbery occurred just before 3 a.m. in the Walgreens parking lot at 51st and Lewis.
Police said the robber approached the 87-year-old victim from behind, stuck something in his back and told him not to turn around. When the victim turned around the robber started swinging a tire tool at him. The two struggled and the robber took the man's wallet then got into a black SUV driven by a woman who headed south on Lewis, according to police.
Detectives located the couple, identified as Dwayne Barnes and Dashawna Watkins, both 25, after tracking the black 1998 Lincoln Navigator to the Pomeroy Apartments in the 6700 block of South Lewis. Barnes admitted to the robbery after being questioned by detectives.
Both were booked into the Tulsa County jail on one complaint each of robbery by force or fear.
Police said the victim was not seriously hurt.
