Two people were jailed after a suspected DUI driver hit a car and a house overnight Saturday in Tulsa. Off-duty Sheriff's Office deputies witnessed the first crash, when two vehicles collided near 31st and Memorial just before 12:30 a.m.

The deputies were working an extra job at the IHOP restaurant nearby and saw one of the two vehicles take off after the wreck, records show.

Authorities say the alleged hit-and-run driver, 46-year-old Robert Cryer, didn't get very far before losing control of his SUV and crashing into a home. The SUV did significant damage to the garage of a house in the 8500 block of East 31st Street.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in either crash.

Cryer was taken into custody for leaving the scene of a crash, driving under the influence and driving without a license. A woman in his car was arrested for public intoxication.

The homeowners told News On 6 they didn't hear the crash but woke up with officers knocked on their door.
