Tulsa Police are looking for a man who accused of stealing a Ford Ranger pickup and slamming into almost half a dozen vehicles as he drove away.
Officers said it all started at about 6 a.m. at the Westminster Apartments near 51st and Memorial. They said the pickup with a manual stick shift hit a stairwell then several vehicles parked nearby.
He was booked on four complaints of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, larceny of an auto, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, no driver's license and no insurance. He also had an outstanding complaint of larceny from a retailer.
Police said the man then drove onto 48th Street South and hit several more parked vehicles. At 74th East Avenue and 49th Street South, police said the truck's clutch locked up and it hit a stop sign. Witnesses told police the man got out of the truck and ran away.
Officers later took Phillip Dewayne Carter Gentry into custody.
"I came out and looked around, I didn't see anything. But then I was talking to my neighbor and we saw the car go flying down the street and next thing we know we hear a big old crash at the end of the street where he has ran into other vehicles," said Amanda Walker.
Officers contacted the owners of all the damaged vehicles.
