A young Tulsa girl got to meet the people who gave her the gift of hearing.

Jayde Scholl, 7, and her family had the opportunity to sit down with the Med-El engineers in Innsbruck, Austria last week who made Jayde's cochlear implants.

Those implants have to be hand made to precisely fit the wearer.

And they are tough too, surviving in the rubble of Moore's hospital after the 2013 EF-5 tornado.

Since receiving the implants Jayde's mother, Dr. Jacque Scholl, says it has changed their lives.

"Once she got the implants, and we started working on the listening skills - her language now, I can actually understand what she wants, which I couldn't before," she said.

Jayde had been found as a baby, deaf and abandoned, in a Chinese city square before her family adopted her.
