Tulsa Police have released the name of the officer involved in a fatality crash that killed a pedestrian early Sunday.

Officer Ryan Melchior, 28, was driving on Lewis Avenue near 61st Street when his patrol car struck James Moore of Tulsa. Moore, 43, died of his injuries.

Melchoir has been with TPD since December, 2011, according to a news release. He has not been placed on administrative leave because the investigation has found no wrongdoing on his part, records show.

Police say Moore had been at Mad Murphy's, a nearby club, and crossed Lewis near Joe Creek bridge. The area is not well lighted and there was no crosswalk, Corporal Dan Miller said Sunday morning.

Miller said the results of the investigation will be forwarded to the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office.
