Tulsa attorney Rob Nigh tells News On 6 he has decided to take the Tulsa County public defender's job on a permanent basis.

In December 2014, Nigh said he would take the job temporarily until someone else could be found head up the office.

Nigh has been in private practice at the Tulsa law firm of Brewster and De Angelis for more than 14 years.

When asked why he's making the change, he said, “I want to make a difference and do something I love, how often do you get to do that?”

He's worked in Tulsa County's Public Defender's Office in the past and has done public defense work at the federal level, too.

Nigh represented Timothy McVeigh, the man who blew up the Murrah building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people.
