The superintendent of Wagoner Public Schools resigned at Tuesday night's school board meeting.
Monte Thompson said he wants to move to southern Oklahoma to be closer to his family.
He said, while he made some mistakes, he's proud of how he dealt with two embezzlement cases within the district. He also increased the building fund by $2 million.
Thompson came under fire from parents this summer, after students were hurt and property was destroyed during a senior prank.
