Tulsa's teachers could be getting a bonus soon. The district and the teacher's union reached an agreement on a one-time payment that's up for approval by the school board.

It would give teachers $750, and give support staff $500. The total cost to the district is estimated at $3.7 million.

TPS is redistributing money that was budgeted for teachers.

They've just not been able to hire any.

The district will pay out the stipend after teachers undergo a required professional development class.
